Little Paradise

My husband, myself and three children aged 14, 10 and 8 visited Maison Mûrier in August this year. We were extremely impressed with the beautiful but comfortable accommodation and the location was absolutely perfect for a relaxing holiday for any age. The house itself was charming.  It was light, spacious and very well equipped with a beautiful pool and gardens as well as a table tennis table, badminton net and garden games to keep the children entertained. (The pool also had a child safety warning alarm).  The house provided everything you would need, and with very much a home from home feel, in fact it did really feel like a home rather than rented holiday accommodation. (Although our children didn’t require them, we also noticed that there was everything a family with younger children would need such as cot bed, bed rails for toddlers and a high chair). There were three bathrooms – two with showers and one with a bath which is really useful with young children.

 

The location was great as, although it felt like a real ‘get away from it all’, in the middle of the most picturesque countryside, it was close to a small village where we could get delicious baguettes and fresh bread every day, and just a couple of miles further away, a supermarket for a weeks’ supply!

 

There were plenty of quintessentially French places to visit – we would recommend Aubeterre and Riberac. Aubeterre has an array of gorgeous restaurants suitable for all the family as well as a night market in the summer months. Riberac had an amazing antiques market one Sunday a month – not to be missed!  We were advised by the owners that there is a man-made beach resort nearby although, we were so busy relaxing ‘at home’ that we didn’t actually make it there!

 

We drove from Buckinghamshire all the way to Petit Bersac   – in August – and were even amazed at the ease of the journey as the roads were so clear and our Sat Nav took us straight there. There were also plenty of service stations on the way for the essential family comfort breaks!

 

In summary, we felt that the accommodation and location provides an outstandingly perfect holiday for all.  We would

definitely recommend a visit and the only negative was that we had to come home!.  Five stars from us!

We have had a great holiday here at Maison Murier with all our family. The weather has been good and most people have used the pool with assorted inflatables every day.

 

The house is extremely well-equipped, not just bedding and towels but all the extras were very useful, from citronella candles (although we still got bitten!) to tissues, toiletries and assorted seating and cushions. We really enjoyed sitting in the garden, playing with Noah on the big lawn, and the “big boys” liked the table-tennis table. A beautiful peaceful setting too. Enjoyed trips to Aubeterre and Château du Plasson for wine and cognac!

 

Will definitely recommend this place to others (it’s gone far too quickly!)

These were great holidays, we appreciated the pool as it was 35 degrees! Thank you for your availability, the house is beautiful! We are happy we had a holiday with a big part of our family and Bakara, our dog. The view is beautiful and the calm is very nice for us to rest. We hope to be back in a couple of months.

We have had a fantastic week here at Maison Mûrier. The house is beautiful and so well-equipped for a gîte. We have enjoyed great weather and have made use of the pool and garden. Thanks for the tip about Poltrof - what a lovely spot for the kiddies. Billy made use of the dog paddling pool too, so all in all a perfect stay.

Every year we spend a week’s holiday with our 2 families in a house in France; so far this was one of the nicest, most beautiful and most well-equipped house. We had such a good time, the kids (and us, of course) really enjoyed the pool, the ping-pong table and the garden. Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to enjoy your lovely place. Hopefully we’ll get a chance to come back. Thanks for your hospitality

Thank you so much for a lovely restful week in your wonderful house! We have really appreciated how well-equipped it is, especially the inflatable doughnuts and copious amounts of outdoor seating. We’ve enjoyed many happy evenings around the outside table, afternoons in the pool and days in Aubeterre (visiting the cave church, eating gelato in the cobbled streets, and kayakking in Brantôme.) We’d really recommend a trip to Château des Plassons cognac vinyard, where we discovered Pineau! Sad to be leaving, thanks so much

We had a fantastic holiday in Maison Mûrier. The house has a lot to offer. It is very charming and cosy, for us it was very handy that towels and bedding were available. Nice view and wonderfully quiet - that's what we came for! Our kids enjoyed the pool, the ping-pong table and the pool toys. A large and beautiful kitchen with all the necessary amenities. We felt at home and have nice memories of this holiday.

Had a great time in Maison Mûrier. Nice view and nice region. ,Visits to Bergerac and Cognac are worth the effort. We found a very nice restaurant nearby in Aubeterre. We had a bit of bad luck with the weather, but at home it was even worse! Too bad holidays are over and we have to go back home. We certainly hope to come back soon.
